HarterHill Network

HarterHill Network — Public Development & Funding Portal

Digital infrastructure for communities that want to govern, connect, and build locally.

The Network is an open-source platform concept for clubs, municipalities, businesses, cooperatives, family networks, and other organized communities. Each group can operate on its own terms while choosing how — and whether — to connect with others.

Current phase:architectural definition and early proof-of-concept work. Existing projects are helping define real needs and workflows. Funding would turn the documented architecture into tested modules, community pilots, and maintainable open-source infrastructure. SeeProgress & Evidence.

Why it exists

Communities need tools built around their interests.

Most digital platforms centralize identity, data, rules, and economic power. The Network explores a different model: independently governed groups using compatible tools for communication, decisions, records, local discovery, and exchange.

Network effect

Local control. Shared strength.

A single group should gain useful tools without joining a global platform. When multiple groups choose to connect, they can share selected opportunities, resources, services, and public information without giving up their own governance.

Applications & Learning Grounds

Projects shaping what The Network must become

These ventures are at different stages. Some operate independently today; others are prototypes or concepts. Together they expose the practical requirements for community information, trustworthy coordination, and local livelihood.

TechSpecific.com

Operating

Systems Engineering, Hosting & Managed IT — Intended Stewardship Engine

TechSpecific provides practical systems engineering, hosting, and technology support today, and is the intended long-term implementation and stewardship engine for The Network. Its long-term direction is a social enterprise owned and governed by the people who do the work — a transition that requires funded legal, financial, and governance development.

Relationship to The Network
Intended future home for Network hosting and stewardship services. Does not yet operate Network node infrastructure, identity routing, or shared rails.

Operating

Regional Bulletin & Community Information Project

Chuck's List helps regional information travel farther by curating opportunities, events, services, and community knowledge. It builds local connection and capacity while testing the bulletin, curation, publishing, and discovery workflows that a future Network module could support.

Relationship to The Network
Existing project informing the bulletin-board, curation, and discovery module design. Runs independently of The Network's proposed architecture today.

YoService.work

Concept

Proposed Community-Accountable Service Marketplace

YoService is a proposed community-accountable service marketplace designed to help skilled local people find work and build sustainable livelihoods. Research focus includes fair matching, portable reputation, worker voice, safety, and an ownership model that does not depend on extracting value from workers.

Relationship to The Network
Concept stage — validation and cooperative-ownership research needed before a working prototype begins.

NeansPlace.com

Concept

Proposed Regional Creator & Artisan Marketplace

Nean's Place is a proposed regional marketplace for artists, makers, and creative workers. It explores how shared discovery, local identity, and community stewardship could help creators reach nearby buyers without surrendering their customer relationships or platform voice.

Relationship to The Network
Concept stage — no wallets, payments, or federated identity integrations exist yet.

Core Value Pillars

Community-Defined, Not Platform-Dictated

The community — not the software — decides what features, rules, and structures it needs. The Network is designed to support that choice, not replace it.

Local Autonomy, Optional Interoperability

Each group keeps its own purpose, rules, and boundaries. Shared protocols are designed to let groups cooperate when they choose to — not to force consolidation.

Progress Measured by Evidence

Every claim about what exists links to a specification, prototype, or repository. See Progress & Evidence for the current, honest state of the work.

Fund the work between the idea and dependable infrastructure.

The vision is documented, but most of the shared platform still needs to be designed, built, tested, secured, and piloted. Capital supports engineering time, community co-design, legal and cooperative structuring, accessibility, security review, hosting, and measurable field trials.
